Volumes all consist of one pre-printed form per page on which the notary records information concerning unpaid notes. Included with form is a copy of the original note with the date, amount of money, and names of the lender and borrower. The pre-printed form allows space to record the name of the institution holding the note, the action taken by the notary, and the notary's signature. Volumes represent the work of ten different notaries. Also included are notices of protest.

Brosius, Marriott, 1843-1901

Marriott Brosius was born in Colerain Township, Lancaster County, Pa. on Mar. 7, 1843. He attended the common schools and Thomas Baker's academy in Colerain Township. In October of 1861, he enlisted as a private in Company K, 97th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was severely wounded at Green Plain, Va. and was honorably discharged in Dec. 1864. He was later commissioned a second lieutenant for bravery on the field of battle. After the war, he attended Millersville Normal School (1865-1866)...
